Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2021 Release Wave 2 (Version 19) became available earlier this month, and we’re excited to share our favorite enhancements with you.
1. Improvements with Bank and Payment Reconciliations
There are now separate number series, a posting preview, and the ability to reverse the General Ledger register posted through the Payment Reconciliation Journal. The Bank Reconciliation page has been enhanced by adding better ways to improve the view through the filters and layout selection. There are also now better options with “auto-matching”.
2. Default Line Types
You can now select the default line type that will be “suggested” when you create new documents. After you specify the default type in the set-up pages, the first line on the document will use the default type specified. You also have the ability to change the line type at any time.
3. Performance Improvements
You’ll love the faster loading times and new templates, as well as better filtering resulting in quicker entry and more efficient work. Microsoft has also enhanced the way that the software identifies errors and makes suggestions for updating the entry to correctly post.
4. Office Integration
Microsoft is improving Office integration with Business Central. There are better searching capabilities in Teams, and Business Central now has editing in Excel in the recurring journals and intercompany general journals. Also, another great enhancement is the ability to generate and send emails using Word templates by selecting the Send Email action.
5. Inventory and Non-Inventory Improvements
You may now add non-inventory items on requisition and planning worksheets. Microsoft has enabled both the requisition and planning worksheets to have non-inventory items like services. Also, users can set locations for non-inventory items so that they can track statistics by location.
