The Dynamics GP Sunset is on the Horizon

Microsoft has announced the official sunsetting of Dynamics GP, but don’t worry – TrinSoft is here for you and committed to supporting GP users. In the wake of this news, we want you to be aware of some important dates for GP:

  • April 1, 2025: No new sales of GP Perpetual Licenses. Subscription licenses can still be purchased for one year.
  • April 1, 2026: No new customer sales of GP of any kind.
  • December 31, 2029: End of product enhancements, regulatory/tax updates, service packs, and tech support.
  • April 30th, 2031: End of security updates.

Next Steps for Dynamics GP Users

Don’t panic, but do start planning. Although five years seems like a long way off, now is a good time to make plans for the future. If you’re on GP, you probably have customizations and third-party add-on solutions and will likely want these in your new system. Let our experienced Dynamics consulting team guide you with a migration roadmap to help make the transition to a modern ERP system in the cloud as smooth as possible.

Make sure you have the right Dynamics partner at your side. TrinSoft has been working with GP for decades and has migrated many clients from GP to Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC). We understand the challenges at a deeper level than most partners and are committed to meeting GP customers where they are and serving as their trusted advisor during this transition. But don’t take our word for it – read what our customers have to say:

“We made the decision to move to BC to take advantage of the current technology. We especially liked the ability to attach documentation to JEs as well as on purchase and sales invoices. I also liked the fact that we had many options for customization using third-party add-ons. Using the system is fairly intuitive.

As much as I love BC, my true shout out goes to TrinSoft. We installed our BC with another vendor and it was a disaster. TrinSoft deployed every resource to get us sorted out in time for year-end close and our annual audit. They have been truly amazing to work with. From the president to our account manager to our main consultant, we have been supported in every way possible.”

“We’re so glad we worked with TrinSoft to help us migrate to BC. They have a team of experts that are not only tech savvy, but they have great accounting knowledge to help our team think through various configuration options when moving to BC. Once we fully rolled out BC, we then have been able to write amazing reports through Power BI tools and expose data to our staff that is helpful in their day-to-day operations. It’s a win for both the finance team and general staff!

…the navigation tools are much more user friendly once you get to know what everything is called within BC, and when having to do reclasses for departments/sites/projects, the Correct Dimension process is amazing and much more convenient and efficient than having to do a JE reclass entry… it has been a great transition overall!”
