Dynamics GP Sunset

Dynamics GP Sunset

The first big chatter throughout the San Antonio conference was the GP end date announcement. Microsoft announced that the product enhancements for GP will end on September 30, 2029. While I didn’t experience a sense of panic among the GP attendees, many did say that they attended to educate themselves on their migration options, including migrating to Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC).

Per Mike Morton, Vice President of the Dynamics 365 Business Central product team, “We know GP customers have been there for a long term, but when they bet on BC, it is a bet that no other company can offer [including] great integration with Office. Nobody can deliver the end-to-end services infrastructure that we have with Azure. The third-party ecosystem we have for different industries and products is impressive, and it’s resonating.”

New Tools in Dynamics 365 Business Central

Dynamics 365 Business Central showcased its new capabilities in every BC session that I attended! Adding new budgeting and cash flow analysis tools, BC is helping users to save time and improve reporting options. BC also announced new process automation, advanced integrations and customized dashboards. For BC users, the conference highlighted exciting new tools to make the end-user experience easier.

AI and Copilot

Microsoft Copilot

AI and Copilot were definitely the HOT buzz throughout the conference. Vik Singh, Microsoft’s Vice President for Copilot Apps, shared insights on how Copilot is embedded across various Dynamics products, including Dynamics 365 Business Central. Singh’s discussion highlighted the seamless integration of AI within Microsoft Business Applications, demonstrating how these AI-driven solutions are poised to enhance user experience and transform business operations.

With over 6,000 attendees, 600 speakers and 280 sponsors, Community Summit 2024 gave customers great insights into Microsoft’s plans for the future of business applications. Customers left the 5-day conference with a sense of community, and many are looking forward to the potential of AI driven solutions!
